Every year, the 16 Ramblers’ groups within the Surrey Area vie for the honour of being the Group that has enrolled the most new members. I am happy to report that, once again, East Surrey Walkers have won the Recruitment Cup for gaining and retaining the most members. We have recruited a net 40 members during the last year and have grown in numbers year after year – from 250 members in September 2010 to 491 at the end of January 2020. On accepting the cup, our Membership Secretary, Pauline Guy, said our recruitment success was the result of a team effort – with everyone spreading the word of how much fun it is to be a member of East Surrey Walkers! Well done us!!
