He had been suffering from illness for a while and latterly had been in East Surrey Hospital. However his condition deteriorated quite quickly and he was transferred to a nursing home in Cheltenham, near his family, for palliative care very recently. His family state that he passed away peacefully and I am including the email from his niece as I think she explains things so beautifully. And how lovely that his close ESW friends rallied around him and helped him at the end.

As many of you may already know, our beloved Nick passed away peacefully in the early hours of this morning.
Your friendship meant the world to Nick, and I hope you find comfort in the countless memories you created together. Thank you all for being such an important and treasured part of his journey.
We will miss him deeply, and his memory will forever have a special place in our hearts.
