Isle of Wight and Fresh Water Bay House
Holidaying on the Isle of Wight is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland and offers new areas to explore around every corner. From picturesque thatched villages to an 85 mile coast lined with unspoilt, award-winning sandy beaches and dramatic white cliffs - not forgetting red squirrel spotting of course.
HF Freshwater Bay House lies at the foot of the famous white cliffs and offers direct access to coastal walks and hikes straight from the door. Newly refurbished in 2016, with 48 bedrooms, many with breathtaking sea views, it has 3 lounges and a bar and is surrounded by extensive gardens overlooking the bay including a putting green, outdoor swimming pool and private access to Freshwater Bay beach. Like all HF Country Houses, it is tailored for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts with boot room, drying room and a Discovery Point stocked with maps and walks directions.
This is a wonderful walking area and it is great that we have the opportunity to sample the Isle of Wight in the height of summer. The walks will include inland and coastal walking. There will be short and long walks for five days with one rest day. Please note that the short walk is different to normal short ESW walks as it could be up to seven miles, so walkers will be out until after lunch. However, it will be led at a Leisurely pace. The long walk can be up to 12 miles and will be led at a Moderate pace.
People attending will make their own travel arrangements although many will be looking to
car share. The holiday is offered on a full board basis which includes bed, breakfast, evening meal, picnic lunch and evening entertainment.
The popularity of ESW holidays is such that they are usually fully booked within hours of booking opening and this trip was no exception. We are sure that all those who responded so quickly and secured their place on the trip will have a wonderful time
