Helen Whiteley has very kindly arranged another of her very successful pre Christmas holidays.

About the holiday
It will consist of four nights, staying at the 4 star Langstone Quays hotel in Hayling Island, near Portsmouth. This includes: coach travel there and back; bed and breakfast; packed lunch; evening meal; our own function room, and our own evening festive programme; 3 days of walking; and use of the coach every day for walks and trips out to areas of local interest. We plan to walk on all the three days, a short and long on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Langstone Quays Hotel
Please see link below for full details of the hotel, including room amenities, bar, restaurant and spa facilities:

This location on the north side of Hayling Island might not boast sandy beaches but this is more than compensated for by the fantastic wildlife around Langstone Harbour. It is one of the top 10 places for birdwatching in the UK and a short coastal walk from the hotel will take you to an RSPB nature reserve along well made paths on the Billy Trail (a disused steam railway line), and with good views across the water to Portsmouth.
Next door to the hotel is Northney Marina which is well worth a wander - it has excellent views and a good café.

The prices per person is £386.00
Helen can advise of the room types still available.

Travel
We will be travelling by coach using a coach and holiday company called Woods Travel of Bognor. The four pick up points are: Oxted, Warlingham, Caterham and Godstone. These pick-ups are as the same as before and full addresses will be sent out nearer to the time. We will be setting off in the afternoon to arrive for check in.

Walks & Visits
Brian S has kindly offered to organise the walks, and there is plenty of choice of interesting locations in the area. Please note the short walks are different to our normal ESW walks as we require the coach to reach the start and end points, so you will be out until late afternoon, but they will be led at a Leisurely pace. The long walks will be led at a Moderate pace. Possible locations for walks and/or visits include Portsmouth, Bosham harbour, West Wittering, Chichester, Selsey Bill, and Arundel. This is not a hilly area, so coastal walks will mostly be very flat, with expansive sea and harbour views, and the intention is always to finish in a town with opportunities for refreshments and amenities.
