45 members attended the now “traditional” ESW pre-Xmas jolly to Blunsden, near Swindon.  Most of us took the coach, but some drove independently, but all of us arrived in time to enjoy drinks and mince pies before getting ready for our 3 course evening meal.  

Over the next 3 days we enjoyed some wet winter walking, splashing in the swimming pool, far too much to eat, quizzes, dancing, and even shopping, but all in a jolly spirit of bonhomie.

As ever, this was a testament to Helen Whiteley’s supreme organising skills in making all the detailed arrangements: from bookings and payments, transport pickups, room allocations, dietary requirements, entertainment provision - and I’m sure much more. Sadly she is hanging up her hat, so this was the last event she would organise for ESW.
