These boots are made for walking……and dancing the night away!!
On Saturday, 23rd November, 61 East Surrey Walkers gathered at St. Peter’s Hall in Limpsfield for the Annual Autumn Social. It promised to be a fun evening with quiz questions interspersed with music from the Whiskey Sours, a local group who had stepped in at the last minute after a tragedy befell one of the members of our original group, Mockingbird, which prevented them from appearing. Whiskey Sours’ website says ‘This harmonising, vintage trio are the talk of the town and their hip wiggling performances have left audiences in a frenzy all over the country. A ravishing mix of class, sass and fun with voices any lark would envy’.

Well, I think we may be a little old to be ‘left in a frenzy’, but the rest is so true! They were a welcome respite after 2 rounds of difficult quiz questions – luckily some people seemed to know the answers so ably put to us by Quizmaster, Ian Scott.

Dancing was slow to start but, encouraged by the infinite enthusiasm of the Twins, soon everyone was up on the floor dancing the night away to the brilliant music of the talented Whiskey Sours.

We had a fish and chip supper from the local fish shop, followed by choc ices. After much good-humoured banter, the quiz was won by the team, Muddy Boots, and they were each given a prize of a bottle of wine.
Well done Christine and Ian for organising another successful Autumn Social.
