East Surrey Walkers

Walking for Pleasure

This is a reminder that we will be meeting the London Blind Ramblers at Oxted Railway Station on Sunday 27th April. We would like helpers to arrive by 10.45 to meet the visitors at 11am. We will then ferry the ramblers & their helpers in our cars to Grub Street Car Park by Limpsfield Chart Golf Club where we will lead 2 walks, a short walk of just a couple of miles for the less able and a longer one for those that enjoy it. A picnic lunch will be held in the grounds of St Andrew’s Church in Limpsfield and the day finishes with tea & cakes at the British Legion in Oxted, before the London Ramblers catch their train back home.

So what do we need?

Firstly Judy Smythson is unable to lead one of the walks this year so we urgently need a leader to offer their services on the day. I will be leading one walk but obviously it needs 2 of us. If you can help please contact me asap at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Secondly we need folk to help ferry the ramblers to and from the railway station and guide them on the walks.

Lastly we need all you bakers to provide cakes on the day, to be delivered to Kate Roffey who will be at the railway station in the morning before the walk.

Exact details will be provided nearer the time when we know how many walkers to expect. It is always a rewarding experience which everyone enjoys, the London Blind Ramblers are most appreciative of our efforts and are good company.

Hope to see a lot of you there.
