Bookings are now open for this four night walking holiday next year. Arrival date Monday 20th May 2024, Check out date Friday 24th May 2024. This is a self-guided holiday at a basic cost of £524 per person, which is far less than the brochure price of £609. The price includes bed, breakfast, picnic lunch and evening meal. The price does not include travel, you will have to make your own way there, however car sharing is an option.
The group will qualify for a free place for every 15 people in the party. This will be reflected in the price when the final balance is calculated. We have been allowed sole occupancy of the hotel, so we must fill at least 34 of the allocated places.
Harrington House Rooms.
There are two categories of room, Classic rooms, and Premium rooms. Although HF will allow us to occupy all the rooms without charging a supplement, we will be charging a supplement of £50 for the better rooms, in order to make the allocation fair (the supplement is per room, not per person or per day). The extra cash paid for these better rooms will be divided equally between all the group. A double room used for sole occupancy will be treated as a Premium room. The final price will depend on numbers, but it should not exceed £524 per person for the Premium rooms, or £474 per person for the Classic rooms. This is considerably less than the brochure price of £689 for a Premium room, or £609 for a Classic room.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The Premium rooms come with extra space and or better views to enjoy during your holiday.
Bourton-on-the-Water.
This is a lovely walking area and we will have the opportunity to sample wonderful views of the Cotswolds. Tony Pearson has kindly offered to organise the walks with a choice of a short or long walk on three days. Please note that the short walks are different to our normal short ESW walks as they could be up to seven miles, so you will be out until after lunch, however they will be led at a leisurely pace. The long walks can be up to 10 miles and led at a Moderate pace.
Harrington House is situated in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, 150 yards from the high street. Running through five different counties, the heart of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty epitomises the stereotypical image of the England of yesteryear. Historic honey-coloured stone cottages create picture-postcard villages which nestle in the pastoral countryside. The house is geared to the needs of walkers and outdoor enthusiasts and comes complete with a drying room and boot room. The area boasts several national trails and long-distance footpaths – great for both gentle strolls and hilly hikes to make the most of this rural idyll.

Because we need to fill all thirty four places it may take longer than usual to finalise the room allocation, however Keith will let you know as soon as possible what your provisional room allocation is. When all the rooms have been allocated, you will be advised the room type and final cost, you will also be sent a payment form with details on how to pay the £75 per person deposit. Bookings for the holiday will be taken on a first come first served basis, but with priority given to ESW members who help run the club.
