East Surrey Walkers

Walking for Pleasure

Our now regular Walk with the London Blind Ramblers took place this year on Sunday 19 May. It took a slightly different format with two walks being offered, a shorter walk being led by Julia D and a somewhat longer one by Lorna B.

The walks were slightly curtailed by a train replacement service meaning the walk couldn’t start quite as early as hoped. The walks were greatly enjoyed by both our visitors from London and our own members as it is great fun to be able to meet new people and experience our well-known countryside from a different persepective.

What hadn’t changed this year was the tea at the end, at the Oxted British Legion who generously supplied copious cups of tea. The cakes were all made by our own British Bake Off bakers.

Di N who organised the day thanks everyone who took part, either on the walks or in supplying and serving the cakes at the end; it was a great day and we are looking forward to our meeting next year.
